Pete Doherty is set to miss the launch of fianc e Kate Moss’ new fashion range because he is having a new implant fitted to help him quit drugs. The Babyshambles frontman, who has battled heroin and cocaine addictions, will return to a Midlands clinic today (04.30.07) to receive a new implant to help beat drugs. Kate is due to appear in Topshop’s flagship store in London’s Oxford Street to promote her new fashion line tomorrow (05.01.07). A friend of Pete’s said: “Pete hopes this new implant will help him quit for good.” The implant, a pellet containing naltrexone, will be inserted under the skin of Pete’s stomach. The 28-year-old rocker won’t be alone for the procedure. The couple’s cat Dinger - slang for syringe - recently gave birth to five kittens, and the singer has apparently been taking them everywhere with him. Meanwhile, Kate and Pete have been slammed for encouraging young people to smoke. Anti-smoking charity Ash fumed: “Kids still see smoking as cool and that is down to role models.” Kate, 33, recently splashed out $8,000 on a pro-smoking piece of artwork for her London home. Chris Klein and Ginnifer Goodwin screened their film, Day Zero at the Tribeca Film Festival this weekend. In the movie Chris and Elijah Wood play New Yorkers who are drafted for the military and have only 30 days to prepare for duty. Ginnifer plays Chris’ wife in the film - how perfect is that? Although many couples that work together don’t make it in the long run, we think it’s cute that they’re still going strong.

After Rosie O’Donnell announced her departure from The View, Roseanne Bar is rumored to be the top choice to replace her.

Among them are Joan Rivers, Whoopi Goldberg, Kathie Lee Gifford and Connie Chung. Out of all of them, Roseanne seems to be the best fit.

“It’s going to be hard for them to follow Rosie,” says an industry insider. “Roseanne could be the only one capable of pulling it off.”

They’re replacing a bear with a hungrier bear. This time no one is safe. Not the muffins, not the cinnamon rolls and especially not the donuts. Uh oh, you guys sure picked a bad time to glaze yourselves. Beware the bear!

Australian actress Keisha Castle-Hughes and her boyfriend welcomed a daughter last week, according to her rep. Castle-Hughes caused a stir when her pregnancy was announced as she was only 16 at the time. Now 17, she and her 20-year-old boyfriend have been dating for three years and live in New Zealand. Felicity-Amore was born on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. weighing 7 lb, 6 oz. At 13, Castle-Hughes was the youngest actress nominated in the Best Actress Oscar category for her role in Whale Rider.
